Fund San Juan Community Library
Organized by: Samantha Arberman
Hello, My name is Samantha. I am writing this letter because my library (the San Juan Community Library) does not have enough money to continue. They need $15,000 and I am trying to do what I can to help them. You might be thinking "Who needs libraries? Most people can't write, let alone read." If you are thinking this then you are correct, but think about the people who love to read. I love to read... if I could I would read books every day for the rest of my life. Some people in Puerto Rico love reading like me, but can only rely on the San Juan library to get the books. You might have heard the saying "Never judge a book by its cover," that applies to the library also. The library may not look like much on the outside or inside, but that's not what really matters. What really matters is the quality and the type of books they carry. After reading many books from there I can assure you they are excellent. Another great thing about my library is that they have bake sales, chess classes, food and whine fests, etc. It is situated in a busy city and is easy for everyone to get to. I really hope I can help them raise enough money to keep the library going. They will need the money before February, but no matter how much you send both the library and I will be grateful. Thank you.
