BENEFITING: ANIMAL RESCUE FORCE INC
Fred was a feral cat that came into my life when I needed a pal. After moving back in with my parents, I felt kind of like a lost person trying to organize my life and understand myself. One day, a cute black cat with a little white spot came walking up to me and I instantly felt a connection to this free-roaming "homeless" cat. Right away I decided to call him Fred after the character "cat" in Breakfast at Tiffany's, where Audrey Hepburn's character Holly Golightly found herself in a similar "lost" kind of life moment. Fred was always there to cheer me up and take time to enjoy the scenery. In time, my parents came to love Fred and became his "Aunt" and "Uncle," as my mother never wanted to have him officially as her own. Fred ended up getting fresh food, water, and an insulated shelter, and love every day! Unfortunately, this past week Fred became ill with either an infection or potential animal bite. At the vet, it was hard to tell what had been infecting Fred but he was experiencing some neurological trauma. My parents found it best to ease his pain and protect him from further harm. There are so many animals like Fred who need a home, food, water, and love. I want to take my sadness and put it toward something to help other animals like Fred who touch people lives in profound ways. Any amount you can donate will help local East Brunswick animals in need.
