Wayne's Wings for Hospaws
Organized by: LORIE BERNARD
EVENT DATE Jun 23, 2016
Hello! In memory of my dad, we pick a different charity to raise money for, every year. This year, we have decided to help a great organization, called Hospaws; They are based out of Youngwood, Pa. Hospaws believes that no one should have to give up a pet, due to a medical condition or hospital stay. My dad, Wayne, loved to bring in strays and give them a good home. Those dogs became his best buddy, quickly. I know my dad would LOVE that we are helping these families & their pets stay together. My family is fortunate to have lots of support, when times get tough. There are a lot of people that are not so fortunate, they truly have no one to turn to and may face having to give up their pet. This is where this organization comes in. A small group of friends and family, who know how important pets are to their owners, started Hospaws, in March 2014. They are an all-volunteer organization that does in home care or fostering, until you are back on your feet. Volunteers are bonded, insured and have background checks done. They also provide food, litter and other supplies, needed for the clients pet. Transportation to the vet or the groomer is another service they provide. Many clients are veterans & the elderly, that sadly have no help. Hospaws runs on donations and fundraising events. There is NO fee charged, to care for the animals. We will be collecting money & items, for this great cause, until June 23rd. Please consider donating, no amount is too small. You can donate on this site (they accept Visa, MC, and Am Exp) or mail me a check (or if you see me in person-cash). Keeping my fathers memory alive & doing good with it, is so healing to my family. Thank you so much, on behalf of Hospaws & Wayne's Wings. **If any interest in becoming a volunteer or any questions about this charity, please contact Valerie @ (724) 787-7304**
*** Side note: when you go to donate on this site, their is a part, at the end, that will say For 100% of your donation to goto cause. Click where it says that (edit) and change to $0 (unless you want to give...it's because they charge a processing fee but you don't have to pay that.) Also, watch on your statements...it may say something other than Crowdrise (I'm looking into that), may say We Pay.*** There is a $10 min, if you donate on this site & they accept MC, Visa & Am Exp.
