We are Fur & Feather Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 in California. We created this non-profit after the CEO/Founder Nancy B. Sayle, a 30 year veteran of the music industry and Sarah Richards, a social worker with our US Veterans. Meeting at a “Start Your own Sanctuary” course, the pair bonded over the common goal of the safety and care of animals. Joining forces they built the non-profit, recruiting others to join the board and the cause. Fur & Feather Animal Sanctuary’s love of all animals runs deep and passionately as they work to save the lives of the homeless, neglected and abandoned animals that so desereve love and the ability to live tho their full potential. They fight a battle daily of heartbreaking stories and have saved over 200 animals from dogs and cats to bunnies, birds and pigs. Now it is time to bring their good works to a full sanctuary that can handle thousands of animals at once making a large dent in the broken shelter system. Initially the sanctuary will handle most of Southern California with the intent to make offshoot satellite sanctuaries up and down the coast of California, then crossing the Nation bringing us to join in a NO KILL NATION!
If you contribute to this amazing life saving and much needed safe-haven, you will not only save the life of the voiceless but you will be a part of a movement to peace while creating a home for animals in need.
Fur & Feather Animal Sanctuary will provide the public with animal education to schools and public, a low-cost spay/neuter facility, Low cost Vet care for personal pets, Veterinarian Education intern programs, Volunteer opportunities, a place for community to come together with on-site events such as Art Shows, Pow-Wows, Pet Fairs, Movie Barn Weekends, and sponsored weekly Pet Fairs.
The sanctuary is meant to be an overflow for the city and County shelters as well as assist traditional rescues with the foster program and medical. We are looking at 65 acres of agricultural land between Chatsworth, CA and the ocean. We want to be fully solar and wind powered. We will provide an educational aspect to inner-city kids as well as a program for handicap children. Will have full veterinarian and equine center that will provide low-cost spay neuter and vaccines as well as other medical needs including dental and surgery for animals.
We want to be self-sufficient so we will host continuous events on the property from art exhibits, powwows, carnivals, huge pet adoption fairs, and any other exciting special that we can find such as celebrity green carpets and concerts. We will also have continuous weekly activities such as the movie barn. This is where you can come pay a fee, get your vegan meal and take your blanket and watch a feature film under the stars on the side of the barn. Also, if we have enough horses that are able, we will do a sunset horse riding and hoedown. You will pay a fee and you get to ride a horse in a group for about an hour and then you end up at a campsite revealed the fiddle players, camp fire and Chuck wagons serving you vegan chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, coleslaw… The whole bit. I want to provide experiences so people will continue to come back. But mostly I feel that we will be able to get volunteers from across the nation to visit us. We will also have cabins built on-site that can be rented like a hotel for people who want to spend their time volunteering in assisting animals as their vocation. We will also have RV hookups for those who want to stop with her RV for a few days.
Once the main sanctuary is built and functioning decently, we will continue to build smaller sanctuary up and down the coast of California. Be it two acres or 10 or even more… We will satellite up and down the coast of California, and once those are functioning as overflow for shelters we will then proceed to across the nation. We want a real no kill nation!
The current board members consist of the wife of high-profile rock stars that have shown the utmost care and bravery to save the lives of animals. One of our wives scaled a muddy hill 50 feet to save a small dog trapped. Another wife blocked 101 freeway to grab a small dog in the medium who was snarling and biting her, but she brought this dog safety and we got this dog medical attention and now is a happy home. Between all of us on our sanctuary Board we have saved over 250 animals in the last two years. We have also assisted families that have run out of money to care for their pet and have raised money for their medical care, and monthly food. We want to keep the pets with the families and not dumped at the shelter because they can no longer afford them. We have put on over 15 successful events to create awareness, raise funding for all our medical and dealing here expenses for the current animals we have as well as gain and amazing reputation for all our good work. Currently we house about 35 amazing animals in the current home conditions that allow us. This sanctuary will allow you so help 1000's a year!

$125 K:RENOVATE THE CURRENT FACILITY & BUILD ADDITIONAL CATTERY
1 - Update the current cattery to a temperature controlled room. This cattery is an outdoor roofed/screened room that is not usable in the heat or the cold. Updating this to an enclosed room with window will allow us to utilize this space all year long. This will require a rebuild with proper insulation, electrical, a/c vents, walls, ceiling, windows, flooring and more. This room will house all the FeLV cats. This means more can be saved then the current allocation of space.
2 – Build an additional cattery/small dog room with heat & a/c vents, plumbing for a grooming area, full build, permits, blue prints. This room will allow us to have a quarantine area with separate air, the public can visit for meeting the animals, as well as up the amount of animals we can provide safety for before adopted. We will possibly be able to take in a small amount of small dogs for the first time for quarantine before foster or furever home.
