Furnace Town Living Heritage Village is a nineteenth-century living history museum whose focal point is the Nassawango Iron Furnace, listed on the National Registry of Historic Engineering Landmarks. The property offers a unique look back in time, with historic buildings and artisans employing their trades of blacksmithing, broom making, gardening, printing, spinning, weaving, and wood working. New for 2016 is the addition of the Mt. Zion One-room School House which moved from Snow Hill to Furnace Town and is a wonderful addition to the village. For more than 30 years, the Furnace Town Foundation has been engaged in educating our visitors about our local history and heritage, while offering an enjoyable experience to guests of all ages.
