I was diagnosed in June of 2009 when I was experiencing shortness of breath, excessive weight gain, and several episodes of fainting. After several misdiagnosis, a cardiologist finally diagnosed me with ph. Being hospitalized twice within a month, I lost 40 lbs of retained fluid, had a catheter put in for my IV medication that had to give me my meds 24/7 or I would die, and had to adjust my married life to a life with a leash and constant battle with a new normal.
I am one of the lucky ones so far with a loving and supportive husband, family, and friends! After 4 years with the iv med, I am now on an inhaled version that is so much more flexible of a lifestyle. I don't have children but I have the most energetic and loving three dogs that a person can ask for. Nowadays I have been loving to dress up as a red panda to get people to smile and it has let me meet more furry friends that I hope will be supportive and more knowledgeable of my condition.
I hope your donations will help PHA support patients, caregivers and help doctors and researchers find a cure for this deadly disease. Please consider joining my team and let's walk closer to a cure!
