Organized by: MDI Prep
Since 2009 MDI Prep has worked with students from lower socioeconomic communities to help guide them to medical, dental, pharmacy and graduate school. While we love donating a portion of our time, the cost of the program and instructors are increasing. We have a 98% success rate of getting students accepted into postgraduate programs. We had a student, Tuan who lived with his parents and 8 siblings in a 1 bedroom apartment. While they may not have had much in terms of monetary, they were reach in desire. Tuan, as the oldest sibling wanted to make a better life for his family and worked extremely hard in college to graduate with a 3.8 gpa in Biology. He had a desire to attend medical school and needed a prep course, but could not afford any courses. When he came to my office he indicated that he didn't have enough money for our course, but could help with washing our cars, or cleaning the office to help pay off his course. He took a job as a dish washer and busboy at a local restaurant. I agreed to let him into the program and each week he would bring me a envelope with coins and any tips he received. I was so moved by Tuan's determination that I sponsored Tuan and paid his tuition for the Prep Course. Tuan has been accepted into medical school and is now in his 4th year and will be going into Pediatrics. There are many other students like Tuan that could use your help.
