BENEFITING: Princeton AlumniCorps
I'm inviting you to help me reach a goal of donating $200 to a program that I am participating in, called Emerging Leaders. I hope that you join me!
By supporting Emerging Leaders, you will be investing in the health and sustainability of the non-profit world. Emerging Leaders aims to address the future need for senior non-profit leadership by training younger talent.
I myself have been very fortunate to be a member of the 2013-2014 New York City-based Emerging Leaders group. Each month for 8 months, a diverse group of aspiring (and incredibly inspiring!) young non-profit leaders comes together to learn hard nonprofit skills and management training as well as the very important soft skills of effective leadership (for example, an articulate understanding of oneself and a deeply empathetic approach to team dynamics). One way the Emerging Leaders has played a role in my current leadership at Carnegie Hall is through the individualized "Stretch" Goal we implement during the program. Due to the program's extra support, I'm proud to say that I spearheaded a new area of programming which will add a new definition to how we provide music opportunities. I fully expect the lessons learned during Emerging Leaders to influence my leadership as I take future steps in my career.
I'm so grateful to be a beneficiary of Emerging Leaders because of previous fundraising efforts by Princeton AlumniCorp (the umbrella organization of Emerging Leaders) and program alumni from previous years. However, this incredible program comes with costs -- it is not cheap to deliver these resources. And so this is now my opportunity to "pay it forward" for future members.
I hope that you join in supporting future Emerging Leaders!
P.S. If you need a few more reasons to donate, read these blog posts by current members (mine will be up soon!).
