BENEFITING: National Blood Clot Alliance
As some of you may know, an unfortunate death occurred in my family in 2008. My uncle Nachie passed away because blood clots traveled to his brain. This was a great tragedy in my family. We were all so close to him. I don't want other families to experience the same sorrow. This is why I am raising money for the National Blood Clot Alliance. The reason my goal is to raise $2,300 is because my uncle was 23 years old when he suddenly passed. "The National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) is a non-profit, voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing the prevention, early diagnosis and successful treatment of life-threatening blood clots such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and clot-provoked stroke". You can learn more about the National Blood Clot Alliance by visiting their website at www.StopTheClot.org. In addition to raising money for the NBCA, I will be participating in three 5k races in memory of my uncle. The first race will be Rutgers University's "The Big Chill" on December 8th.
