BENEFITING: HUNGRY FOR MUSIC INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 08, 2015
By now, hopefully you got your invite to my House Concert on Nov. 8th from 3-6pm at 5808 Midhill St. I'll be playing 2 sets of music and having some food and telling you about this amazing organization I'm raising money for, Hungry for Music.
I'm going to tell you what music has meant to me. In 4th grade, I started playing the cello, and never really took it seriously enough to take lessons. At the middle of 5th grade, I started struggling in my music class. So, I realized that I should maybe take the cello more seriously. That's when I started taking lessons. Within a year of taking lessons, I had made noticeable improvements, and took cello way more seriously. It was then, around the beginning of my middle school orchestra career, that I realized how amazing music is. So, that is why I chose to center my Bar Mitzvah project on giving the gift of music to communities in need through Hungry for Music. This non-profit organization located in D.C. takes your donation and spends it on giving lightly used or new instruments to schools without music programs all across the country and outside of the US. Thank you for your thoughtful donation. Please consider donating even if you can't come to the house concert (although I hope you can come!).
I'm enclosing the link here so you can donate easily.
I want to bring music to kids less fortunate than me. Love, Gabe
PS Please RSVP to the house concert either way to my Mom: firstname.lastname@example.org
