I made the pulser pump and I promote it and offshoots from it like the Nano airlift pump as a means of pumping water in poor countries.
I got into solar cooking research to try to attract people interested in the same type of alternative energy ideas.
My "grand solar idea" was to make a low tech tracking solar collector. This had to be designed from the ground up because a low tech tracking solar collector does not exist!
I had idea success with water clock dripper trackers, clock based dripper tracker, liquid piston tracker which are low and medium tech ways of tracking the sun for solar cookers. I also made the "Mechanical mathematician" which is a simpler way of making a parabolic dish or dish mold. The current state of development is called the dual dish tracking solar accumulator. It is pretty much ready to go but my solar building skills are limited.
I also worked on a non tracking solar cooker. This yielded the solar design T-Square and initial results with it suggest that a clam shaped collector is a very useful shape for a solar cooker.
Less developed branches of "gaia tech" are cob bee shelters (for solitary bees),
A fermentation powered water pump, and uses for the fibers from weeds and grass cuttings. (A kind of home grown soilblock or fibre container technology).
I have won minor prizes on the internet for my solar stuff and I was nominated for the ARS Next Idea prize (Linz Austria 2011) for the pulser pump.
Adaptations of several of the ideas are now being used in the windowfarms project.
I expected that if I did the initial research on a humanitarian project, others more capable and more qualified would take over and some large well funded organization would do the necessary research.
Basically, since I started my first project, organizations have never contributed.
In fact they have generally been negative.
Individuals have proved that the pulser pump is real, on 3 continents! Individuals have used the waterclock idea in windowfarms, and individual mathematicians and astronomers have verified the physics of the tracking solar cooker.
My effort so far has been totally self funded and every prototype I have made was completely done by me. I believe that I can achieve much more if I hire people to do some of the tasks and if I can pay people to do trials in different places. (Victoria has Sun in summer when I am most busy at work).
