BENEFITING: AMBASSADOR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
EVENT DATE: Aug 28, 2015
“For He has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.” -Isaiah 12:5
The man pictured with me is Abou Camara, pastor and chairman of the Presbyterian Church of The Gambia. I met Abou last August when I traveled to his country to teach a group of pastors and church leaders through the Book of Acts. In the time since, I have not only become endeared to this man as a friend and brother in Christ, but I feel particularly called to serve alongside him as opportunity allows for the sake of Jesus and His Kingdom here on earth.
That is why I am very excited to share with you that God has indeed opened the door for me to return to The Gambia once again this year. In partnership with West African Reformed Mission. I am planning to be there between August 28 and September 6 for the following purposes:
- I will lead a team that consists of four other men from Ambassador Presbyterian Church, each with their own unique and particular callings for this trip.
- I will teach a week-long intensive course on Pastoral Counseling to pastors and leaders of the church. Along with one of the elders from my church, I will also provide some practical training and encouragement for their other various ministries as well.
- I hope to visit a couple of sites where church leaders are planning to construct church buildings using funds raised by Ambassador during our Project Gambia campaign this year.
- I will continue to forge relationships and explore opportunities for Ambassador to faithfully and fruitfully continue our mission partnership in The Gambia well into the future.
I am very excited for this opportunity and thankful to the Lord for preparing the way. As a pastor seeking to lead our church in taking the gospel not only across the street but also across the globe, it is my hope that such a step of faith will continue to inspire and promote future participation in global missions from many more people in the years to come.
This year’s trip is different than last year in many ways. Our team is larger, we’re doing even more work, and I’m not staying in a hotel this time - I’ll be staying at the Pastor’s Training Center out in the bush near Jiboro. One thing does remain the same, however. To make this trip a reality I need your help to raise the projected $2,300 to cover my expenses. I also need folks to pray with and for me and my family as I prepare to go and while I am there serving. Will you consider partnering with me in either or both ways?
Thank you for your continued love and support for the entire Layman family. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Blessings to you in Christ Jesus,
Please note: all donations will go to directly to Ambassador Presbyterian Church. As such, donations are tax-deductible. Crowdrise does charge a small fee (~3%), but I will personally be contributing the % difference for whatever is given here.
