THE STORY:

On April 10-11, 2000, government forces under dictator Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia opened fire on peaceful student protesters. 14 lost their lives, and many were left permanently disabled. After 14 years of neglect by the Jammeh regime, the most physically disabled survivors, Yusupha Mbaye, Sainey Senghore, and Abdokarim Jammeh and many more remain in critical need of medical attention and physical therapy. Yusupha was shot and is paralyzed from the neck down and many were left with physical disabilities. These brave survivors of April 2000 are constantly living through the horrors of those two fateful days and the agony of their constant physical, mental, and emotional anguish. Unfortunately, they have been forgotten by the Jammeh government In The Gambia, and the world is yet to learn of their plight.

Let us honor the sacrifice of those who gave their lives up on April 10th. and 11th. 2000 to fight and stand for Justice for All Of Us. With your help, Yusupha, Sainey, Abdokarim and the rest will rise from being VICTIMS to becoming SURVIVORS.
