BENEFITING: KARAM FOUNDATION NFP
Gaming with Cows and Drty Herd is holding a 24hr gaming session beginning with the release of Destiny 2 on September 6th 2017 for the Karam Foundation! The Karam Foundation was started ten years ago in Chicago, they began helping the underprivileged areas of inner city Chicago with food and clothing drives. Today they are a major charitable organization helping with the Syrian Humanitarian Crisis, their impact can be felt across Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan, helping thousands of displaced refugee families. Since 2010 the conflict in Syria has become what some say will go down in history as "the worst man made disaster the world has seen since World War II." United Nations human rights chief Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein said "the entire country has become a torture-chamber: A place of savage horror and absolute injustice," in February 2016 the Human Rights Watch Organization put the death toll at a 470,000 with a whooping 6.1 million people internally displaced and 4.8 million people seeking refuge abroad. Since then those numbers have only terrifyingly increased. This crisis is greater than any one nation, any one school of politics, any one religion, it is first and foremost a mass human crisis. Every human being on this planet has a part to play. If we put aside our differences, listen firstly to the needs of the Syrian people, and work together with organizations like the Karam Foundation we can perhaps help elevate some of this tremendous pain.
