Gapi, is an amazing duo project developed to meld cultural styles of Korean and American music. DoYeon Kim (Gayageum) comes from a rich background in traditional Korean folk music and Chase Morrin (Piano) is well versed in Classical and Jazz idioms. Together, they are creating extraordinarily unique and collaborative music (see the video) with rich modal harmonic landscapes and complex rhythmic grids, challenging the traditions of both the Gayageum and Piano.
