Garner Lighthouse is a not-for-profit corporation operating as a suboxone clinic in the Wake County area with a fully qualified staff and volunteers. Our hours currently are very limited. We are providing management of opiate dependence and withdrawal using suboxone and related. Our services are on a sliding scale in order to qualify for 501 (c) (3) status. We will be applying for tax-exempt determination with the IRS within their guidelines, which requires filing within 27 months of formation. Garner Lighthouse wants to offer a wide range of treatment and support services to benefit people with addiction problems in the Wake County area. The services are as follows: • management of opiate dependence and withdrawal • mental-health services • intensive individual and group therapy • primary-care services • financial consulting and assistance services • job-placement services • nutritional education and services • criminal-justice services • temporary housing until one can be independent • transportation to jobs, appointments, and other necessary trips • substance abuse education and support services We also want to award scholarships to individuals whom we deem could achieve recovery and become a productive member of society by using our services. The scholarship would provide its recipients time to find a job and establish a suitable and settled living environment, then be able to pay to continue services. We will have detox centers refer people who their staff believes would benefit from our services and would be able to continue a program. We hope our program would enable more recovering addicts to have productive lives and keep them out of the court system. We now would like to raise additional funds to expand our services. Instead of just being open just on Saturdays with a doctor and staff, we want to have clinic operating in some respect six days a week employing suboxone doctors, a psychiatrist, therapists, and administrative staff. This would allow us to provide the following services: • management of opiate dependence and withdrawal • mental-health services • intensive individual therapy Some of our volunteers can help with other services on a case by case basis. In order to accomplish what we want, we need suboxone doctors working 20 hours per week, a psychiatrist working one full day a week, therapists working 30 hours a week, and administrative staff working 33 hours a week. Our budget then would be $6,000 per week. This would enable us to serve 100 to 150 patients in the capacity listed above. We would also have people available to talk to people for when others seek help. We currently have over 20 patients paying over $1,000 per week. They pay anywhere between nothing to $150 per visit for management of opiate dependence and withdrawal. The patients need the other services, also. We also currently are pursuing accepting all insurances. The additional funds will allow us to achieve this expansion, then with revenues and funds expand services and hours more and then open additional locations. Only are small percentage of drug users are being currently served. I have read that for every dollar spend on rehab, it saves society $12. We want to expand to be open six days a week. Please help us.
