BENEFITING: Big City Mountaineers
EVENT DATE: Aug 25, 2017
I joined Optic Nerve Eyewear as the Brand Director over a year ago and one of our brand’s long standing not for profit partners is Big City Mountaineers. The BCM mission to help under-resourced, under-served youth get outside and experience the transformative power of the wilderness is directly correlated to Optic Nerve's mission to produce quality products at prices that allow everyone to enjoy the outdoors. This summer, I have been asked to participate in an expedition in support of Big City Mountaineers. The climb will take me to the summit of Longs Peak, a 14,259 foot mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. These "Summit for Someone" campaigns are for climbers and mountaineers to find creative ways to pursue their passions and raise money for Big City Mountaineers’ youth trips. I have committed to raise $3,000 to support BCM and their mission to help get more kids outside. As a symbol of my commitment to them, I will be summiting Long's Peak with a group of climbers and mountain guides who also support Big City Mountaineers. By raising the $3,000 I personally will be supporting BCM in creating a first-time opportunity for approximately 500 kids here in Colorado to get outside on one-to-one mentored wilderness trips in 2017. Those generous enough to donate $100 or more from July 13-19 will receive a free pair of Optic Nerve sunglasses!!! Thank you so much to all for supporting Big City Mountaineers!!!
