This fundraiser supports an awesome non-profit organization that desperately needs to hire some amazing people to help expand its’ impactful work. Gates of Hope serves communities in Boise, Idaho and Kenya; providing educational and recreational scholarships to youth who are responsible and passionate about becoming the best versions of themselves. Gates of Hope also cultivates community development through real relationships and empowering education. If you would like to read more about the organization please visit gatesofhope.com. Gates of Hope Kenya has funded the education of more than 30 kids, half of which have graduated high school and moved on to either university, trade schools, or jobs. These opportunities have changed their lives and the lives of their families forever! Over the last two years, the growth of Gates of Hope Boise has been truly remarkable. Through a scholarship program, Gates of Hope has provided over 60 kids the opportunity to attend YMCA summer camp. This has given kids from war-torn countries and chaos the chance to be kids; making friends, playing, and having fun! Additionally, Gates of Hope has provided over $2,000 in scholarships in the past year to local kids who would not have otherwise been able to pursue their educational/recreational goals. Finally, Gates of Hope Boise established it’s first-ever leadership program, which uses basketball to teach young men the values of respect, health, love, and service to others. This program was a huge success with as many as 20 boys participating weekly to learn these crucial life lessons. With the rapid growth, Gates of Hope has identified a tremendous and immediate need to develop a similar program for girls, which is where your help is needed… All the incredible work done through Gates of Hope has been accomplished with one paid part-time employee in Kenya and one in Boise. We have only been able to provide these services because of the generosity of several committed volunteers and loyal donors. It’s with great excitement that we see Gates of Hope, and the needs of the community, growing at a rate that will require the addition of four more employees in the coming year. Our programs need to expand to serve more men, women, and youth by providing opportunities for health and healing through increased education and recreational activities. We have managed to keep expenses at a minimum and are committed to continuing our operation with great accountability and financial responsibility. We would love to take care of our employees with a fair salary that compensates the hard work and sacrifice that accompanies work in the non-profit world. Please consider contributing to these workers and the incredible mission of our organization by donating to Gates of Hope!
