BENEFITING: Gear Up Foundation
Uniting the world in response to tragedy continues to be the pledge of Gear Up Foundation.
THE WORLD SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND CHANGED EVERYTHING IN NEPAL as a massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake devastated this country in the afternoon of April 25, 2015. Over 4000 have been killed, many thousands more are missing and injured, buried in the debris or being treated as best they can.
Rescue efforts continue throughout the country and especially in Kathmandu where our partner organization, Papa’s Home, an Orphanage who Gear Up Foundation has been working with took a direct hit. Strong and continuous aftershocks have forced it’s director Lalit Shahi and his 30 kids from the shelter of their building into the streets and into tents.
The immediate needs on the ground are many including medical support, search and rescue along with our needs to provide the children with emergency shelter, food and water. These things are needed urgently and, as the days turn into weeks and months go by, Nepal as a nation, Kathmandu as a city and Papa’s Home Orphanage & Gear Up Foundation Team will need your support to be part of that healing and rebuilding process.
• Reconstruction of Orphanage of Papa’s Home.
• Emergency Shelter, food and water for 22 Orphans of Papa’s Home.
• Emergency Trucks, rescue, support equipment and training
As we have demonstrated over the past 13 years, even something as tragic as the events of 9/11 can inspire people to do great things in tribute to those who made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice. Disasters, either natural or man-made truly test those who experience them while also giving us all an opportunity to show our unique spirit and dedication to working together as a team.
