Please join us to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the DSNMC Buddy Walk! This year's walk will be held at Falls Road (Hadley Park) in Potomac, MD
October is Down syndrome awareness month and it is our favorite time of year. The Buddy Walk is a staple in the Mitchell household. We have been in it since the first one TEN YEARS AGO!! The entire event has grown not only with new families with children with Down syndrome, but an outpouring of support and attendance from our friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and just some pretty amazing people we are so fortunate to know!
This will be our first Buddy Walk that I am not president of DSNMC, but their work continues and this event makes everything possible for 365 days per year! They hold social events for the families, work with hospitals and counselors for new families, they work with educators to have best practices to help our kids in the classroom, specialty programs for parents with local and national speakers and so much more!
Any amount of support is greatly appreciated. And having you attend would be extra awesome!!
The Buddy Walk is the primary fundraising activity of the DSNMC, a support network, advocacy group and information provider to families whose lives have been touched by Down syndrome. We are a volunteer organization, and nearly 100 percent of the funds we raise go directly to support the programs and services of DSNMC and the National Down Syndrome Society.
The DSNMC aims to not only be the go to resource in Montgomery County for parents and family members, but also for the broader community. This is why we have created initiatives and programs to provide awareness, support, and educational enrichment activities for our teachers and health care professionals as well as for our parents. However, in order to continue to expand and further enhance these initiatives and programs, we need your generous support!
Online registration ends October 8, so register to attend today!
