Gender Menders would be a volunteer based program in which healthcare professionals, youth workers, teachers, parents etc. go out in to the community to address the issues that many youth face when it comes to gender identity. This would include group seminars in schools and community centers. As well as individual counseling. It would be an outlet for LGBTQ youth, as well as heterosexual youth to question the gender binary and importantly is would address gender titles and why they exist. It would validate and empower all types of youth to not have to conform to a stringent set of gender roles set by society, family, or peers. It would equip young people with the tools they need create their own gender identity. In turn creating the dialogue for healthy relationships, growth, empowerment, and overall a healthy community.
