BENEFITING: Joey Fabus Childhood Cancer Foundation Inc
EVENT DATE: Sep 18, 2016
I'm honored to be working with the Joey Fabus Childhood Cancer Foundation as we plan the 2016 5K Race/1-Mile Walk. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) research. DIPG an inoperable brain tumor located in the most essential part of the brain, the brain stem. Considered rare, DIPG attacks approximately 400 children per year. There is no cure. Every child diagnosed with DIPG will die from DIPG, usually in less than a year.
On January 21, 2015, after an 8 month battle, Joey Fabus died because of DIPG.
The Joey Fabus Run Over DIPG 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk is an event to raise awareness and funds for research, and to bring our entire community together to remember Joey. Thank you for your support!
