BENEFITING: Team Muscle Makers for UCMD
Recently, running has become a release, a chance to push myself harder and go farther. I often take my health and fitness for granted, not only the ability to run a half marathon, but also to simply walk around the block and chase my kids at the park. I know that for many, these are not simple tasks. That’s why, this coming January, I'm running the Star Wars Rebel Challenge (a 10k on Saturday and a Half Marathon on Sunday) for Team Muscle Makers for UCMD. This will be my third time running with them.
Team Muscle Makers' mission is to raise awareness for Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, a rare form of muscular dystrophy with only a few hundred documented cases world wide. It is our goal to raise money for the research for new treatments and, one day, a cure for UCMD. Please know that 99% of the proceeds benefit Rady's Children's Hospital to help kids, like Parker (pictured to the left cheering others on), and their families. This clinic offers exceptional care, and strives to do so at a reduced cost to the families. But for many with chronic illnesses, those costs are still too much.
That’s where you can help. Even a small donation can go a long way to help.
Please join me as we make muscles, one mile at a time!
