BENEFITING: LAZAREX CANCER FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: LAZAREX CANCER FOUNDATION
As most of you will know I have suffered from ME/CFS for the past 6 years. It is a complicated condition which primarily causes extreme physical and mental fatigue and muscle pain. Having been involved in pretty much every sport team in school, becoming ill and barely being able to walk was a huge blow. The condition and patients’ recovery varies enormously, so there was no telling if or when I might be able to go back to living an active lifestyle. At my worst I was confined to a wheelchair and even a year ago I used a walking stick on my worst days and found stairs a huge challenge.
Since the summer I have been gradually improving and I have made the (somewhat late) decision to challenge myself to complete a 5km run (or walk!) in January :) I am raising money for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation who support cancer patients and their families. They aim to give everyone affected by cancer hope, dignity, support and access to the most advance treatments available to them.
Any donations would be much appreciated!! – 5km might not seem like much, but to me it feels like a marathon!
