BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF THE BLUE STAR TRAIL
EVENT DATE: Jul 22, 2016
The Michigander Bicycle Tour hosts a fund-raiser to benefit The Friends of the Blue Star Trail’s commitment to build a 20 mile off road trail to connect Saugatuck and South Haven.
The event will take place overlooking the vineyards at Fenn Valley. Guests will sample a variety of wines, along with sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres, while listening to award-winning Americana musicians Drew Howard and Mark Schrock.
Donations from this event will go toward match money required by MDOT for construction of the south sector of trailway in Saugatuck Township from 127th to 124th Avenue (M-89 along the west side of Blue Star Highway). M-89 (124th) is the border between Saugatuck and Ganges Township and this will assist with approximately 2.5 miles of new construction trailway in 2017, which will benefit all surrounding communities. Plans are to initiate construction in the north sector late summer 2016. Blue Star Trail Board Member Jim "Sully" Sullivan will provide a welcome and update on behalf of the Friends of the Blue Star Trail.
This fundraiser is a new initiative by Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance and the Michigan Fitness Foundation to assist with community trail projects around the state during the annual Michigander Bicycle Tour.
Please note: you must be 21 or older to attend this event, no exceptions.
