On April 2nd, I, along with many of my friends, will be participating in the P.A.C.T.'s 2nd Annual Color Out Cancer 5k. P.A.C.T. (Pittsburgh Attacks Cancer Together) is an organization that was recently founded at the University of Pittsburgh to raise money for research at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. This institution is internationally recognized for innovative research on the prevention and treatment of cancer. Statistics show that 1 in 2 men, and 1 in 3 women are diagnosed with cancer. I have lost many loved ones due to cancer and after my close friend's mother was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer, I decided to join in the effort to raise money for cancer research to ensure that no one else has to go through what so many others have gone through. I encourage anyone available in the Pittsburgh to join in running with me. If it is not possible to make it to the race, you can still donate. All money raised from the race and donations will go directly to the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Thank you for all of your support!
