GENERATION UBUNTU'S 2016 WESTCHESTER TRIATHLON CORPORATE TEAM CHALLENGE

The Westchester Triathlon is held in Rye, NY, September 25th. This is an Olympic Distance Race and the distances are as follows: Swim -.9 mile, Bike -25 miles, Run -6.2 miles.
The Charity: Generation Ubuntu (GenU) is an NGO based in Khayelitsha, the poorest township of South Africa. GenU provides holistic care for approximately 200 neglected children living with HIV. This care includes nutritious meals, social services, emotional and educational support, as well as necessary medical attention. This year, Generation Ubuntu is proud to be an official Charity Partner of the Westchester Tri!
Fundraising: Each team’s goal is to raise or donate at least $1,500 for Generation Ubuntu. Each individual’s goal is to raise or donate at least $500. In addition, corporate sponsorships are available at five levels: Friend($5,000), Bronze ($10,000), Silver ($15,000), Gold ($20,000) and Headline ($30,000).
- HIV is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 5
- 100% of the children in Generation Ubuntu's program have not only survived, but thrived, in a country where 680 people die of AIDS-related illnesses each day
- Many children living with HIV have been orphaned, live in poverty, and are victims of abuse and bullying
- The Generation Ubuntu program is becoming the GLOBAL model for every child living with HIV.
