Congratulations! You've chosen a "big" adventure! This isn't like those books, however, where the story ends abruptly and you regret having chosen that path. Your visit to this page will have impacts far beyond today.
The Big Siblings program at Madison House seeks to develop one-on-one relationships between a UVA student and a child in the Charlottesville area who is in need of more positive relationships. As a big sibling for 3 years at UVA, I met once a week with my now 15 year-old little sibling, Duquan, serving as a friend, role model and co-video gamer. Given the immense impact that this friendship has had on me as a person, and the impact that I know this program has and will continue to have on the Charlottesville and student community alike, I would like to request your support by providing a donation in the amount you see fit to this great program. Recommended donations are $25 - to reach the fundraising goal of $1,000!
The adventure doesn't stop there though. By reaching this goal, you will help support critical program costs, including:
- The "Big Sibs Big Give" service project, where big siblings have the opportunity to get their little siblings involved with community service! ($500)
- 10 background checks to match big and little siblings ($50/background check)
I want to express my most sincere thanks for your support of my running and fundraising. For further information on Madison House or the race, please don't hesitate to contact me or visit www.madisonhouse.org.
See you in New York!
