Felicitaciones! You've chosen "muy bien." This is another great path on your adventure - read below to see what happens!
The Latino and Migrant Aid program at Madison House serves the Charlottesville region's migrant and latino community by traveling to local elementary schools, homes, and orchards to tutor and work with adults and children in English. As a volunteer for 3 years and a program director for 1 year, I tutored and met once a week with an incredibly awesome Mexican man named Olegario. For anyone who has learned a language, he or she knows how important it is to practice it consistently. In order to ensure this continued support for great people like Olegario and his family, I would like to request your support by providing a donation in the amount you see fit to this great program. Recommended donations are $25 - to reach the fundraising goal of $1,000!
But wait! The adventure doesn't stop there. By reaching this goal, you will help support critical program costs, including:
- 20 days of volunteer appreciation and stewardship ($25/day for snacks, thank you notes, socials on the lawn, and other motivational tools to support the volunteers and further the sense of community among the group)
- 50+ car-fulls of volunteers traveling to migrant camps to tutor! (Average mileage reimbursement is $10/carpool)
I want to express my most sincere thanks for your support of my running and fundraising. For further information on Madison House or the race, please don't hesitate to contact me or visit www.madisonhouse.org.
See you in Nueva York!
