I’m George Prisco, and I’m going the distance for our patients at MidHudson Regional Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.
I joined MidHudson Regional Hospital – then Saint Francis Hospital – 20 years ago and have served in a variety of roles in development and marketing prior to my current position in human resources as Executive Director of Mid-Hudson Valley StaffCo. I’m honored to run the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon in support of our patients.
I’ve finished seven Ironman triathlon competitions, completing a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bicycle ride and 26.2-mile (marathon) run. My last Ironman competition was in 2013, and in recent years, I’ve become involved in CrossFit.
I live in Highland with my wife, Kathy, who will be cheering me on along with other family members along the race course.
I never thought I would run another marathon, but when the opportunity to run in support of our patients came about, I couldn’t turn it down. Anytime someone can turn their passion into a benefit for something else they are passionate about, it is just an absolutely perfect scenario. I can’t think of anything better than to do what I love outside of work to benefit what I love at work.
MidHudson Regional Hospital, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, is home to the mid-Hudson Valley’s most advanced healthcare services. This 243-bed facility cares for more than 10,000 inpatients annually while performing an additional 325,000 outpatient procedures each year. MidHudson Regional Hospital operates the area’s only Level II trauma center, is home to the Redl Center for Cancer Care and Center for Robotic Surgery, and is a destination hospital for patients with serious illnesses and injuries.
I’m looking forward to running my first New York City Marathon to support our patients at MidHudson Regional Hospital through the Westchester Medical Center Foundation in November, and I appreciate your support.
