BENEFITING: New River Conservancy
Carl just joined me at Team Single Blade!
New River Conservancy is teaming up with New River State Park, New River Outfitter, River Camp USA, and Riverside Canoe and Tube Rental to offer our 2nd Annual New River Paddle-A-Thon on Saturday, July 12, 2014!
The New River Paddle-A-Thon is a participant based, or crowd-sourced, fundraiser where we depend on you to raise money to support the clean water efforts of National Committee for the New River. Participants will celebrate our fundraising and friend-raising successes with a 7 mile paddle on the South Fork of the New River in North Carolina.
Register for the Paddle-A-Thon by going to our New River Paddle-A-Thon site and clicking on the “Join the Event” button and then the “Register” button. You will then have the option of either a single person kayak or a 2 person canoe team and if you need a shuttle. If you will be bringing your own boat, we’d like to know that as well! If you prefer to paddle a canoe, your paddling partner must also register for the event. Children 10 and under register at half price.
Registration fee is only $30 a person, which includes a limited edition Paddle-A-Thon T-shirt**, membership to NCNR, and the companionship of New River friends for the day! Boat rentals are $35 a craft (including shuttle) and shuttles are $15.
After you register, you’ll be asked if you want to join a team, create a team, or create an individual personalized Paddle-A-Thon Fundraiser Page! All of these options allow you to upload your picture(s), reason for participating, and amount you’re pledging to raise. Once you’ve got either your individual or team page customized, make sure to share it! Email, twitter, tumblr, pinterest, facebook, you choose your favorite way(s) to get the word out about our fabulous New River.
Even if you don’t want to paddle you can still be a part of the effort to help us cleanup of the New River. Please feel free to start your own fundraising page and collect donation AND you can always donate to our paddlers.
