A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY
I have been selected to be part of a delegation of young American Jewish women leaders at the Women as Global Leaders Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from March 13 to 15, 2012.
At a conference where few Jews or Americans are expected to attend (I believe we're the only delegation of American Jews), this would be an amazing opportunity to represent the face of both the United States and Jewry to emerging leaders throughout the world, particularly in the Arab world.
It also would be an extraordinary opportunity to connect with other women who are leading the charge promoting human rights, women's empowerment and religious tolerance.
After the conference, if (and only if) I can raise enough money, I would stay for an extra 3 days to meet with a series of UAE dignitaries to discuss issues related to human rights, Jewish-Muslim relations, and Israel.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Going to this conference would be an experience of a lifetime. However, I simply cannot go without significant financial support.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has generously given me a challenge grant and will match contributions up to $1,000.
Any support you can give would be phenomenal and would be one step closer to going to Abu Dhabi.
$5 = Sponsor 28 miles of air travel
$18 = Sponsor 100 miles of air travel
$100 = Sponsor 11 hours at the conference
$180 = Sponsor 1,000 miles of air travel
$250 = Sponsor one day of meeting with UAE dignitaries
$500 = Sponsor 2,778 miles of air travel
$1000 = Choose the name of my first born (ok, maybe not...but I'll be forever indebted to you and will seriously consider your naming suggestions when the time comes)
SPECIAL OFFER FOR GROUPS/ORGANIZATIONS
I would be more than happy to come and do a presentation about the conference to your group, lecture, speak at a Shabbat dinner, whatever you wish, for organizations that sponsor parts of my trip.
I also will do a year of pro bono program evaluation for your group for contributions over $500.
