Please consider donating to help raise awareness on sleep disorders. I have Narcolepsy and my son Hypersomnia, more than likely Narcolepsy just not showing up on MSLT yet.
Johnathan was diagnosed in 2016, myself in 2013. Getting accommodations in school has been a challenge. He manifests it as talking in class, spacing out, getting off task, and sleepiness. To the school he isn't sleepy enough for a nap. He seems just like every other kid that puts his head down and they tap on his desk to get up, what teacher commented. This is beyond a normal tiredness. The lack of understanding and awareness or even trying to understand just baffles me. Johnathan tells me he is still sleepy and would benefit from a nap. To them he is missing out on education if he does so. Having OHI assesment done soon.
I know because I have Narcolepsy what it is like but awareness needs to be in scools because apparently with my experience it isn't there and as a parent it is frustrating.
