Seeds Of Peace helps teens from opposing sides of wars or conflicts to come to together, and it teaches them that there is always a different side to the story (Read below for more information on Seeds of Peace*). For my Mitzvah Project, I have chosen to raise money to send a seed to camp. I chose to work with Seeds Of Peace because I know how much of an impact camp has had on me and so many of my friends. I have learned so many things from camp, including friendship, trust, and positivity. Seeds of Peace uses this powerful camp format to bring opposing teens together. The hope is, that when they leave, they have befriended their "enemies", began trusting in people that they were taught not to trust, and have a sense of positivity about the change they can create in their home environments. Please join me in my efforts to help send a seed to camp so they can learn all these traits for themselves.
*Seeds of Peace inspires and cultivates new generations of global leaders in communities divided by conflict. They equip them with the skills and relationships they need to accelerate social, economic, and political changes essential for peace. Since 1993, Seeds of Peace has set the standard in international peace-building by providing exceptional young people and educators from regions of conflict with an otherwise impossible opportunity to meet their historic enemies face-to-face at our International Camp in Maine.
They build on their extraordinary and critical relationships and understanding through year-round local programs that focus on the core leadership capacities needed to advance peace. There are now over 6,000 Seeds and Educators from 27 countries who prove that solutions exist, peace is possible, and there is reason to have hope for a better future.
