EVENT DATE: Mar 04, 2013
In my lifetime, I have been blessed with the best friends possible. They have helped when I needed it most, and I can say that I would not be where I am today without them. This Holiday Season I want to give back to two of those important people in my life, simply because they are the ones who need help this time.
My co-workers and close friends Hannah and Giovanni are currently pursuing Graduate Assistant jobs through the NIRSA organization. NIRSA gives undergraduate students the opportunity to network with Campus Recreation departments throughout the nation in an effort to land a job (and free graduate school) with a university that best suits them. Attending the national conference for NIRSA is the most vital part of this process, but it takes a great deal of money to get there.
The estimated cost between travel, food, and lodging per person attending the conference is somewhere around $1,500. Hannah and Giovanni currently do not possess or have access to this kind of money. My hope is that with this fundraising effort they will be able to at least pay for the flight to the conference, which will certainly help them get over the economic hindrance that stands before them.
With your help my friends can continue their education, and ultimately their career path. It is unfortunate that money stands in the way of their future, but I cannot let that stop them from pursuing their dreams. Any amount helps.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your consideration.
