BENEFITING: GREATER HOUSTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Good Afternoon, GFFers: While there has already been a tremendous outpour of help and a sense of urgency to donate from GFFers, and our community at large, it remains clear that we can do more. From today, Sept. 1, until Thursday, Sept. 7, GFF is committed to contributing a 2:1 match up to $7,500 for every dollar donated by GFF’s employees to the Greater Houston Community Foundation for Hurricane Harvey victims. So, if GFFers contribute $3,750, GFF will match it with an additional $7,500 for a total contribution of $11,250. GHCF, with the leadership of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and County Judge Ed Emmett, has established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept tax deductible flood relief donations for victims that have been affected by the recent floods. The Fund will be housed at GHCF, a 501©(3) public charity. Additionally, we want to assure everyone that the track record and effectiveness (what percentage of donations go to the recipients of the organization that has been chosen) has been well vetted and specifically notable is that GHCF has a current Gold Star rating from GuideStar. We believe that any monies donated to GHCF will get to those with the greatest amount of need. We are using a hosted website through CrowdRise
Again, thank you to everyone for all that you have done and continue to do. Have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend!
