I formally joined the Golden Gate Men's Chorus in 2008 but my history with this organization actually goes back 35 years.
I sang in the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Chamber Singers led by Dick Kramer back in 1980 and this is ultimately the group which formed the Dick Kramer Gay Men's Chorale in later years which then became the Golden Gate Men's Chorus.
From the early 1980's the Golden Gate Men's Chorus has always had a mission of singing quality performances of classic male choral pieces from all genres of music spanning from Gregorian Chants to Gospel and contemporary jazz which are not generally performed by most community choruses.
In July 2014, we will be undertaking our first European tour to compete as one of the first GALA choruses in the World Choral Games in Riga, Latvia with additional performances in Lithuania. While I am personally able to pay my own way for this tour, there are others in our group who may not be able to do so. We are asking our friends and family to help support us in being able to bring all of our members along on this tour.
As a community chorus and performing arts group we cannot survive solely on ticket sales so we rely on your tax deductible contributions for support.
I truly believe in the mission of GGMC and our goal of presenting beautiful music to the world and hope you will consider helping us out with any donation, no matter how small.
Because I believe so much in this fundraising effort I will be personally matching every donation dollar for dollar up to the first $1000.
Thank you for each and every donation you can make.
