BENEFITING: Saha Global
EVENT DATE: Dec 10, 2012
This coming Winter Break, I will be a Community Water Solutions Fellow, joining other Fellows from around the country, and traveling to Tamale, Ghana. In Tamale, we will be working with Ghanian elders and women to launch the water treatment businesses that will transform a community's water supply.
Over the course of 3 weeks, my team will be buying materials, physically implementing a water treatment facility, and conducting household water testing to evaluate impact. Moreover, and what makes the CWS approach unique, we will be teaching two local Ghanaian women to become the directors, accountants, and independent owners of the water-treatment business for long after our team leaves. Ultimately, our team will create a permanent source of water for 700 to 1,000 Ghanaians. And for the local women, we are launching entrepreneurship and creating a direct source of income for the owners and their families.
I very much appreciate your decision to consider donating — Every dollar raised will go directly to the non-profit organization Community Water Solutions, and will be directed entirely towards my work. All donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for your consideration — every dollar makes a difference!
If you would like to know more about the non-profit . . .
Community Water Solutions is a non-profit that works to bring clean drinking water to rural villages in West Africa. They do this by bringing students and young professionals from around the world to launch sustainable water businesses and empower local women to run them. These businesses provide safe drinking water to the entire community, generate income for the women entrepreneurs who run them, and use local products. To date, CWS has launched 38 water businesses that provide clean water to over 20,000 people.
