Growing Home is a non-profit /social enterprise that is an urban organic farm as well as a paid job readiness training program for people with barriers to employment. The participants learn work ethic with hands on experience. There is also a classroom component where participants work on achieving life goals, writing resumes, cover letters, job search, mock interviews, and conflict resolution skills. The curriculum is steadily advancing each year.
The Growing Home Graduate Board is a group of individuals who have successfully completed the program and have gained full time employment. We now live positive and productive lives and want to give back to the community. We want to extend the helping hand that was extended to us. We understand the power of education and removing barriers. We hope to show our caring and empower youth by supplying them withschool supplies. Through our back to school drive we will distribute 100 book bags filled with school supplies and give the children in Englewood a great start to their school year and to their future. We hope you will join us on our mission and help us reach this goal for the children of Englewood.
We are asking you to donate any of the following supplies to help us provide essential tools to ensure children in our community are ready to start school prepared and focus on learning. We also would appreciate monetary donations so that we can purchase any goods that haven't been donated.

If you would like to donate any items, please drop them off at 5814 S. Wood St between 8 AM-3 PM Monday-Friday and ask for Kelvin. We also will be accepting donations at Green City (August 22nd) and Logan Square (August 23) farmers markets. We will be distributing the items the week of August 31st, so the last day we will be excepting donations will be August 28th.
