Dear Friends and Family,
My sister Jennifier Barnes is a 34 year old woman, diagnosed last year with triple negative breast cancer. She has undergone multiple rounds of chemo, surgery and is currently receiving daily treatments of radiation.
Cancer is daunting. It does not rest or sleep, it does not flee the cold for warm weather during school vacation. Cancer is relentless, showing no favorites and taking no prisoners. Wealthy or poor, educated or illiterate, young or old, it doesn't discriminate. Cancer has no friends, no allies, no comrades. It doesn't need any. It does it's damage on its own. It is its own Army. It is insidious, creeping into the lives of everyone, leaving a path of destruction and tragedy in its wake.
But out of tragedy can come inspiration. It can harvest acts, deeds, and abilities beyond ones expectations. Throughout Jennifer's battle she has grown more determined, resilient, more dedicated to her faith, more focused, not only on herself and beating this disease, but on how she can help others.
We are trying to raise $30,000 to help offset the cost of the unpaid medical bills as well to donate to breast cancer research. We need your help in achieving this goal. Donations are tax deductible and can be made here online. Please join Jennifer's Army and contribute generously. Help us wipe cancer from Jenny and off the face of the earth.
P.S. I'd like to ask one more favor. It would be so wonderful if you would solicit a donation from one other friend or family member. Just think of how much more money we could raise in our effort to rid our lives of this horrible disease.
Thank you in advance and a very Happy Holidays.
