Gina and James Wedding
One of the topics during our first conversation that night at our high school reunion that sparked our connection was bone marrow donation. James found himself in need of one after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2013. He was adopted, so a match could not be found within his family. Incredibly, through some intense sleuthing and determination, James' family found his birth father, learned he had ultimately married his birth mother, and that they had two more children. Heather, the sister he had not yet met, volunteered to be his donor and saved his life. James' two families have been connected ever since. Gina happened to be a bone marrow donor for an anonymous recipient through "Be the Match," in 2015 so was happy to meet a survivor. In lieu of a gift, we would be so honored if you would make a donation to the two organizations that directly and indirectly, made our wedding day possible.
