BENEFITING: Pulmonary Hypertension Association Inc
EVENT DATE: Sep 20, 2014
I am hosting the 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk & Kids PHun Run – Get Short Of Breath for Pulmonary Hypertension…Let’s Kick Some AsPHalt to help raise awareness about a rare heart & lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and money to go towards research for further advances in medication and a cure.
Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs that can lead to right heart failure. There is no cure. I have a personal stake in this event. As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in February, 2006. I could barely put a pair of shoes on my feet, walk up a flight of stairs without feeling faint and having to sit down to catch my breath. I'm on a speciality medication that is administered through an IV 24/7 and oxygen. I get fatigued easily and find it hard to breathe at times. Simple everyday living can become very difficult. I have lost several PHriends to PH and don’t want to lose any more people to this horrible disease so, I want to help FIND A CURE. Pulmonary Hypertension is often misdiagnosed as COPD or asthma so I want to raise more awareness throughout the Midwest.
My personal goal is to raise $3,000 and with your help I will make my goal!! Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
All contributions are for the Pulmonary Hypertension Foundation to use to help find a cure for those whose lives have been affected by PH. If you would like to find out more about PH and the Foundation, please visit www.phassociation.org.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
