BENEFITING: Girls Incorporated Of New York City

I'm raising money for children. I work for Girls Inc. of NYC and in order to raise money for the kids in the program I direct, my team and I are organizing a 5K run/walk and a corresponding crowdrise campaign to benefit them.
A little about the girls we work with in Astoria...demographically we serve an under served, lower income, community of color. The majority of families are immigrant families from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Latin America. Many of the girls in our program are here on refuge with their families from the civil wars that disrupt safety and the chance for them to receive an education in their home countries.
Help me accomplish a goal of $15K that will benefit the children in our program by donating as little as a dollar today. 100% of your donations, fund raising and run/walk registrations (minus event hosting fees) are tax deductible and will directly go towards helping the girls in our program become strong, smart and bold.
If you'd like to join our fundraising team, let me know! You'll get a free Girls Inc. shirt and possibly some more goodies depending upon how much you help us raise! I hope you join this cause with me.
If you'd like to register for the actual 5K Run/Walk event on October 1st, go to: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/ginyc-family-day-fun-runwalk-5k-tickets-26879386970. (Registration fees are also directly benefiting the girls and are tax deductable as well)
