BENEFITING: GIRLS ON THE RUN INTERNATIONAL
I appreciate your interest in Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay!
I absolutely love this organization and the vision that GOTR encompasses.
Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
I grew up running, and as a former Elite Runner, my passion lies in giving back by sharing my talents and expertise to help people of all ages learn, grow and enjoy the healthy benefits of fitness and education. I truly believe that running can change you! Through running, we learn about goal setting and achievement, perseverance, motivation, overcoming obstacles, empowerment and inspiration. Running creates knowledge that we carry for the rest of our lives.
I volunteered as a GOTR Coach in 2014. What an amazing experience it was to coach, train and mentor the girls at Sandy Lake Elementary School. They inspired me as much or more as I inspired them! For the past two years, I have also served on the GOTR Board as the Fundraising Counsel. I am honored to announce that I was recently elected to the position of Board Chair. I am thrilled to serve our organization in this capacity. Yet one piece was missing: coaching! I have missed coaching so I decided to also become a GOTR SoleMate. I believe in Girls on the Run and have seen how it changes the lives of the girls, as well as the coaches, families and everyone else involved. That’s why I am so excited to commence training for my first Marathon back since 2012 and run all year long as part of the GOTR SoleMates team to raise money so that any girl can be a Girl on the Run, no matter her financial need!
As a SoleMate, I will be training for the next 6 months leading up to the 2017 Marine Corps Marathon on October 29th. Based on our 10-week curriculum, I chose this race to incorporate different training and lifestyle components to share with our donors. I invite you to join me on this journey to train for this race, support, cheer, join the team, fundraise and help spread the word! As you follow my journey, think of a young girl. Keep her in your mind and know that because you have chosen to support Girls on the Run, you are giving her the same experience you are creating for yourself – a chance to learn there are no limits on who we can be, only opportunities to be remarkable. Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Thank you so much.
