My family is heading to Zihuatanejo in August for a little R&R. We were looking to spend a day at a ministry that could use some help. I found Zihuatanejo Christian Fellowship through Google. I emailed them to see what we could do to help. I received an email that touched my heart. They have many needs, but one thing they mentioned is starting a girls soccer team! Our daughter has played soccer since she was 5 yrs old and my husband has been a girls soccer coach. Our family loves soccer! As we emailed back and forth, we came to love this ministry and their servant hearts. We realized that while Zihua/Ixtapa area are expensive tourist areas, the workers are paid little and the extreme poverty is often hidden. One of their ministries is to families who live in the dump! Coach Cristián has 30 girls that he is sharing God's love and investing in their lives through soccer. Here is what we want to do: provide soccer uniforms, cleats and equipment for the entire team! We leave in 4 weeks and our goal is to have the team fully outfitted by then!! Pls take a look at www.zihuachristian.org to learn more about their ministry. All funds will go directly to them and are tax deductible. Thanks for your help!
