BENEFITING: GIRL SCOUTS OF EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS INC
ORGANIZER: GIRL SCOUTS OF EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS INC
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
Boston will be my first marathon. I am excited to be running to support the Girl Scouts, but my biggest motivator was to run in honor of my mom (one of the photos to the left) and her survival of 75 days of hospitalization this past summer. I vowed, that if she could fight to make it through one of the hardest ordeals I have ever witnessed, then I would do one of the hardest things I could imagine myself tackling, the Boston Marathon.
As someone who is involved with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing, as well as being a physical therapist, I feel it is essential to be a good role model for the health of our youth as well as health care professionals. The Girls Get Healthy Initiative fits right in with my motivation to be healthier for me and for my family. I am thrilled to be running on behalf of GSEM, so please support my training and effort to support this great cause.
The photos at left show the "before" me, and my biggest supporters, my family, as we have embarked on this path to wellness. By the end of April, there will be an "after" photo of someone who will be much healthier. The last photo, from GSEM, shows my friend Jill, who has run for GSEM twice and is a great source of motivation and encouragement.
Thank you for all your support!
