THE STORY:
I'm so excited to be running the NYC Marathon in November! This will be my first marathon and to be able to run with such a great charity is an honor and a privilege. The Girl Scouts have been an important part of my life since I was a little girl. I joined the Brownies in the second grade, with my mom (the ultimate Girl Scout!) as our troop leader. When the opportunity arose to start a Daisy troop for my daughter's kindergarten class, I knew that I wanted to be a big part of it. We started Troop 5050 at Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Staten Island, and we are having a blast! As the girls work toward earning their petals, they are learning to be kind, compassionate, responsible, respectful and strong. The lessons they are learning today will stay with them for the rest of their lives and will hopefully help them become the amazing young women of our future.
