Empower Girls by Fundraising While You Race!

For nearly two decades GirlVentures has shaped the lives of Bay Area girls, helping them develop into healthy, confident young women. As the only local non-profit of its kind, we combine outdoor adventure with leadership development and mentoring for girls, at a time in their lives when they need our programs the most.

Funds raised through the Marathon will help ensure that all girls can participate in these life-changing experiences regardless of their socio-economic background. Each year, two-thirds of participants come from low-to-middle income families and receive full or partial scholarships, and all girls are outfitted with high-quality clothing and equipment from our gear library.

The impact of an investment in GirlVentures is profound: More than 90% of the 300 girls we serve annually report that our programs have empowered them to make smart choices for health living, relate to others and their environment wisely, and become effective and confident leaders.
