My heart is bursting at the seams

'Tis the season to GIVE! I know you might think I'm jumping the gun here. Yes, I recognize that Christmas is still a few months away, BUT, it is never too early to start thinking about helping others this holiday season. This is where I need your help! Let's give the gift of Christmas to children this year! My goal is to assemble 50+ Shoebox Gifts for children this Christmas. I have partnered with the Daybreak Shelter in Joliet, and will be distributing the finished boxes to children at a party we will throw at the shelter. I am estimating to spend approximately $15 per box. The boxes will hold small toys, crayons, coloring books, stickers, notebooks, gloves, socks, toiletry items, and other small goodies. I also intend on providing each child with a cozy, new fleece blanket as well! When you stop and think about how much we spend on Netflix, Starbucks, tacos, & wine - what's another $15? I am looking for 50 people to donate a minimum of $15. That alone will accomplish my goal of assembling 50 boxes. All funds raised will go directly toward this cause, the boxes, and supplies for the in-shelther holiday party. I recognize that everyone has a different financial situation. If you can donate $5- awesome! $100- thank you! If you want to run to Walmart or the Dollar Tree and purchase items directly- that works too! Anything and everything can help to give a child the gift of Christmas this year! Please reach out to me if you would like to get involved in any way! I will need volunteers to help assemble the boxes, and help throw the holiday party! Please share this page! Thank you so, so much!
