They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. As soon as I'm cleared to run again, post-car accident, I will get my training on for my next event, the Hamptons Half, which I love running...late summer, Long Island, dear friends from NYC, arts weekend and killer bands after the race, and visiting @Mattebella Vineyard the next day. How did I get so lucky?
To share the luck, and pay it forward, I am raising money to help fund education for underserved indigenous children via www.FriendsofIndreni.org, on whose board I am honored to sit. Every dollar goes so very far in Peru, Costa Rica, and Nepal, and these kids grab hold of their chance to improve their futures via education. We support them in a variety of ways, whether funding construction supplies for a school building, or teacher training, or helping kids preserve their cultural patrimony.
Won't you give a dollar (or ten!) for each of the 13.1 miles I'll be running so that we can set them on their journeys of a thousand steps, too?
